[ QUOTE ]
1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. [/ QUOTE ] The context is somewhat specific to fornication, but I usually hear this verse interpreted to apply to all self-destructive or self-disgracing behavior. |

[/ QUOTE ] yeah, vs. 18 "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body." it's contrasting sexual immorality with "all other sins," so it's a bit dishonest to omit vs 18. |

Re: bible questionsIs
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It says not to be drunk I know its not the same thing but certainly is similar [/ QUOTE ] Where? [/ QUOTE ] Ephesians 5:18 is one example: "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." Also several passages in Proverbs, although one of which (Proverbs 31: 6-7) says: "Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more." So I guess the answer is it's a sin to get high if you're happy. |
