Yeah, I think varying bet size is underrated. I'll often bet more when flops are wet and are particularly likely to have hit my opponents, and bet smaller when flops are dry/paired/unlikely to have hit. Varying my bet size in this manner gives me the ability to jam in this situation without being obvious. And every dollar more you get in on the flop lets you bet around 3 more on the turn, which lets you bet around 9 more on the river.

Hmmmm... Without reads, I fold this. Only way I call here is if villain is overly aggressive or I've seen min raise with air/follow through another street with bluffs. Although your sample size his small, his stats seem somewhat donkish and donks love to min raise with big hands.

I bet $30 on the flop because my betpot script is set to X% amount that came out to $30. I agree that potting this flop would be good also, but $30 is my standard cbet for $48 pot.

for people saying to call, what kind of range can we put him on at the river? flush or air? is he really VBing 2pair/set?

Change the way your bet pot script is set, these weaksauce bets are way less effective for building pots and establishing fold equity when you miss than these 60% pot bets. Both have their pros and cons but overall betting $40-45 ish here is a lot better than $30, imo.

As played I'd fold the river.

There are several possible holdings for villan. He could have AT/AQ[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for the nuts obv, or any other flush for that matter. He could also have any set, striaght or Pair + A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

This guy is a fish though. What does a fish check/minraise turn, then shove river with? Its usually the nuts. However, sets are still very possible, as most ppl that c/c a set on the flop are c/ring the turn, shoving safe riv.

A naked ace bluff is possible, however, this would require that villan be thinking on a higher level, (same goes for value shoving a set).

We cannot assume that an unknown 30/10 is capable of high level thinking, which would be the prequisite for assinging him a range that that is wider than flushes.

I begrudgingly fold, but if i had seen anything creative out of him whatsoever, I can find a call.

Should've bet bigger on the flop. First mistake you made in this hand is in the subject line of this thread.. how did you flop the nuts? Nuts in this case = flush, or flopped straight drawing to flush. You had neither, just a straight.

Given flop action, fold to reraise on the turn. 3 clubs, you bet, he reraised, how clear does it have to get for you that he HAS the flush? Call then on river still consider calling? That's how you get stacked dude.. don't fall in love with the flop like that next time.
