Default AQ .02/.05 did i play this ok?

MP1 ($8.03)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.05, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.2</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls $0.20, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, UTG+1 folds.

River: ($1.92) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1</font>, CO calls $1.

Final Pot: $3.92

Results in white below:
Hero has Qs Ac (straight, ace high).
CO has As Kc (one pair, kings).
Outcome: Hero wins $3.92.

I won the pot but I got berated at the end of the hand for catching the ten. Was calling his .30 cent turn bet bad? I figured it was a pretty weak bet considering how much was in the pot.

You really should have bet the river more, if you are going to call the turn bet.

Exactly. You want him to call about a $2 bet on the river when you hit to make your call on the turn OK.

yeah i realized that after I probably could have gotten him to put in more money. I know a value bet is how ever much you think the guy will call, but is there a standard percentage of the pot that you should bet?

On the turn you have 4 outs so your odds of hitting a straight are roughly 12 to 1. Since the pot odds are only a little better than 5 to 1, you need to be sure you can get more than $2 more from him for this to be a profitable call - as played - it was -EV.
