Default ATTN: Vegas Locals - some questions from a long-term visitor

I'm spending 4/1-6/1 in Vegas, rented a house in Summerlin.

The first week or so was easy, because my wife wasn't out here yet ... all I needed was a place to buy beer and a place to park near the strip. Figured that out ok.

Now my wife is here, so I'll need to broaden the activity list.

A few questions for locals ...

1) Where are some good bars to play pool for a married couple (early 30s)? We won't be playing anyone for money, and tatooed guys scare my wife ... just want something to do while we drink beer.

2) Tons of golf courses everywhere of course, but most don't have full driving ranges. Any decent driving ranges (the only one I saw was Callaway near the strip)?

3) How about some average public golf courses? I play a fair amount, so I can (almost) justify $200+ for a round at a really nice course, but my wife is a beginner and usually just goes along for the ride after 12 holes or so ... any non-crowded semi-cheap courses around?

4) Any decent, non-chain restaurants in the NW/Summerlin area? Plenty on the Strip, but I'm not always in the mood to head down there. Mexican, Italian would be great.

Thanks in advance for your responses and also feel free to PM me too.

Pool Sharks on Decatur/Twain has a bar and about 25 pool tables, some bar sized, mostly full sized. Fun place without the problems that you'll find in bars.

There are TONS of great restaraunts in town. Every other major intersection in Summerlin has places to go eat. As for non chain...whats a chain ? hehe

I can't help with the golf stuff.

1) Almost every PT's has pool tables. And those places are everywhere, and normally pretty chill.
2) Angel Park has a pretty nice range, and its lighted. It's located on Rampart just south of the Summerlin Parkway.
3) Black Mt, Aliante and Desert Rose are probably the cheapest courses in Vegas, but you get what you pay for.
4) There are a ton of good restaurants in Summerlin and NW Vegas, too many to list. Get out a phonebook?
