QQ hand from Heartland $2,200 this weekend
75 people left out of 410 starting. Average stack is about 85,000. I have 320,000. Blinds are $2000-$4000 with a $400 ante. Folded to me in the Hijack. I open for $14k with red QQ. Button ($250k) and BB ($300k) both call. (i know, my table was insanely deep for this stage of the tournament.)
Flop T76 rainbow. The BB bets out $40K. I raise to $100K, Button folds, BB calls. Turn 4 completing the rainbow. BB shoves for his remaining $185K or so. I have been at the table for about 1 orbit and the only hand I have seen him show down was when he flopped top set of 9s from the BB and check called the flop and the turn. He let the PF raiser hang himself with AK. Easy Fold? Comments on the flop welcome also. |

Why did you open for 14k preflop?

Re: QQ hand from Heartland $2,200 this weekend
turn shove is not likely to be a move since he has only seen you play 1 orbit (what do you think your image is to villain?)....prolly looking at AA/KK at a minimum, or a set
...maybe the nut flopped straight, but would think he would value bet it (given prior hand trapping with set of nines)...2 pair/a worse pair unlikely with this action, so, I fold QQ and hate it in this spot my random result guess is he held top set pushing the turn, maybe a little worried of an improved river for opponent holding AA, KK, QQ, JJ, or, less likely but possible, a gut shot |
