It's a magazine on neo-conservatism, which fits neatly with my world view and values.

Many people do this and I don't understand. I'd rather read stuff that doesn't fit neatly with my world-view

Slightly off-topic: Financial Times or Wall Street Journal, which one do you guys prefer? I used to read both, but now I read FT only. Seems to give better coverage of things I'm interested in.

Neither. Investor's Business Daily

subscriptions: New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, Economist, Mens Health, SI, ESPN. Used to have Fortune and Business Week but let them expire. Pick up the Maxim type every once in a while, Rolling Stone also.

This is why I like the Economist. They have a conservative, view of things. It also helps that they are based in the UK and thus are fairly neutral as far as American politics goes.

What is the cheapest site to get magazines on the net?

I just googled it and got alot of the same type of site.

Are they all legit? crooked in any way?

But mainly which is the best and cheapest?

[/ QUOTE ]

I got my subscriptions of Smart Money, Kiplingers and Forbes from discountmagazines.com. At the time got a GREAT deal 5.95 a year (did 3 year deals at 17.85 each). They are no longer on the 5.95 list.

However for those wanting Fast Company it can be had for 5.95 a year still via this site.

This site is legit, I get my magazines and have not had any problems.

How has nobody mentioned Outside?

Adventure, travel, testosterone... doesn't get much better than that for young men.

Other than that I like National Geographic and should really get a subscription.

I liked Outside before it hit the big time. Now it seems that the articles are about massively overpriced packaged "adventure travel", about mondo expensive gear, or are covering contests (mountain bking, climbing, et al) as if it were the adventure sports SI.

I actually prefer National Geographic Adventure now.
