I agree that 24.5-25 is a LOT and your logic def. makes sense. That said, would you be shocked if they came out and won by 30? I know I wouldnt, and thats why I will not bet against that happening. That is basically my whole point I guess.

you are ignoring facts, yes they win, no they dont win by that much as much as they seem to, most of the time its by less, nad this case i doubt will be one that ends in a 24+ point blowout. obv that statement will be different v jets and dolphins, but the eagles aren't nearly that awful

they are basically the Redskins. or the Browns (only 17 point win). or a bit better than the Bills. those teams weren't awful either

As an aside with DVOA: Do you think that NE has been performing average, below average, or above average?

now, this is the first time in weeks I'm not on NE. -24 just seems crazy to me, and the Pats have been playing at an incredibly high level, maybe the highest extended streak in NFL history. they are due to "just" beat a team by 2 td's or so.

otoh, I see no logical reason why they won't keep playing nearly as high as they have. it's not like they have been scoring fluke td's or getting fluky defensive plays. in addition, they are 100% healthy. there is 1 guy on the injury report, and that is Tom Brady.

do you mean as compared to what they could normally be expected to do? they have been performing above average certainly.

they just beat the Bills 56-10 or whatever and their dvoa barely moved.
