Default Improving my end game.

Im sure this is already somewhere on the boards. But I must be having an off day because I can't seem to find it.

I've been playing some micro stake SNGs on PS and so far I'm doing quite well. But my short game really needs some work. Can you guys recommend some books or articles that will help me improve my end game?

Thanks

I guess it depends on how big the sng's are, but when it gets down to the end game and everyone has under 10BB it's all about stealing the blinds and being able to shove all in with a lot of different hands. When it gets shorthanded a lot of hands move up in value, such as any ace, any king, etc. I'd recommend playing around with SNGPT.

Sorry, its NLHE 9 players, mainly getting into trouble once it gets to the less than 4 players. I'll have a look into the SNGPT thing, thanks.

What is your problem when you get down to 4 players?

Do you just fold around hoping someone else will get knocked out before you?
Do you find yourself getting blinded off?
Are you blowing big leads?
Are you getting pushed around by big stacks, or small stacks?
Whats your general table style/table image?
How well do the people play at that level? (are they easily pushed around? or wacky calling stations)

I would also reccomend HoH V2.. fantastic book.
Probably one of the best books written about poker, very informative, and ENJOYABLE to read.. Many poker books have info (some useful, and some useless), but only a select few books are actually FUN to read...

Well I've put in my amazon order for HoH v2 so hopefully that will help some when it gets here.

My main problem is that I'm used to playing FR cash games and struggle to loosen up as players get eliminated and blinds increase.

And when I do loosen up I find myself folding to large reraises/all-ins from big/small stacks. Again this might be because I usually play cash games and am used to folding less than premium hands to big reraises.

So i need to learn to loosen up, and stop getting pushed around so much.

In the end game I generally tighten up. When it gets 4 handed you can't play connectors or suited anymore because you don't have odds. Those hands are for building up chips. As the blinds get large I tighten up and generally just look to raise and steal the blinds. When it gets 4 handed, everyone tightens up and you should be trying to steal the blinds with mostly good cards, but bad cards if you sense someone is weak or you get down to under 8ish BB. This is all in HoH2 as well.
