Lol, reminds me of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I'm a bit confused how that happened though. If the kid was a stick shift noob, wouldn't the car just stall? Or is the Mustang powerful enough that first gear can engage by just releasing the clutch without hitting the gas pedal?

He had to have had the clutch in when he started it. You hear it start, you hear it rev but isn't moving yet. Then it goes...

I'm pretty sure he pressed the clutch down to start the car and then immediately let it go. I think the car was powerful enough to not immediately stall. Plus when you first start the engine it's running at a little higher than idle.

At the risk of sounding a bit pedantic, any stick shift car can accomplish this--usually it takes releasing the clutch pedal very slowly.

I drove a stick for 7 years, and if it ever jerked forward upon ignition, it would respond to brakes. Was the kid too startled to realize where the brake pedal was?
