Beat: Missed Cedar Point today (pics)
I'll warn ya in advance: No comedy here. Just a genuine beat.
For a while I've been planning a trip to Cedar Point (big amusement park in Ohio - I know a lot of people haven't heard of it, but still find that odd since it's like the roller coaster capital of the world) that would take place today, Sunday. I rounded up my girlfriend and 3 of my best friends and we crashed last night at one of their places. The weather forecast for Sandusky (about 3 hours away) didn't look too promising, but I'm something of an optimist so I wanted to go anyway. I cleared that with my friends and thought they were cool with that. We made the trip this morning and it rained on and off, causing us to get a bit discouraged. We were right outside the park and the rain didn't appear to be going away. I wanted to go in anyway (and not waste the trip), but it was 4-1 against me, so we turned around and came home. I felt rather betrayed and didn't speak to anyone for the whole trip, though I feel guilty about that now. Beat: Wasted a trip to Ohio and didn't get to have a day of fun. Brag: After a nap, played poker live at the local sports bar and made $300. Variance: Sandwiches.

i went there too for my senior trip.... and about 5 other times.
OP, how far of a drive was it? We talking a couple states?
