My First, And Perhaps Only, Statement About Absolute

The Absolute Poker cheating scandal has divided us into two camps about how to respond.

Prior to this, many people thought that the online casino would statistically detect any significant non-standard play, using sophisticated computer algorithms. The truth is that even when experienced players informed them of the problem, they issued statements that it did not occur. It was only after the spreadsheet was inadvertently leaked that they had no other choice but to admit it.

Prior to this, it was thought that the repercussions to an online casino involved in cheating would be so severe that they would never consider it. Some thought that the casino would "police itself", or that the "gaming commission" would revoke their accreditation, or that the players would avoid them like the plague.

Now we have players who think that the proper response is to play at the site where the cheating occurred, because it will be easier there.

We have all learned a valuable lesson. Organizing poker players is a lot like herding chickens cross country, on horseback.

I'm going to move to costa rica. Gather all of the books published by 2+2 and transfer them to electronic files and email them to anybody that wants them for 5% of retail.

I wish i could remember that TV program that sklansky was on a couple of years ago where he was chomping on gum the way that only a speed freak can.

What if it actually goes like this:

A: You get $10,000, person you hate gets $0
B: You get $10,007, person you hate gets $700,000

Or we could be even more accurate, and say that there's a tiny % chance you get stuck a massive amount, a 30% chance you improve your win rate by a small amount (the rest of the time nothing changes), and a 100% chance the person you hate wins a ridiculous sum of money.

This isn't even an altruism thing at this point - you're presenting a false dichotomy, and it's a pretty dishonest appraisal of the situation.

Well, I might as well join the suicide team and admit I pretty much agree, entirely, with OP. Like, the fact people don't understand it or just disagree because "IT'S EVIL!"!!1" blows my mind.
I don't think playing at AP, right now, is a good idea, yet, because I don't have enough info to know whether they are actually safe or not. However, from some posts here, I'd say it's kinda likely they are. If I could get any info that just tilted the balance a bit to "they are safe" and it was true that the games are incredibly soft (which I don't know), I'd be all for playing there, regardless of what happened or not.
Or, are we really going to boycott IBM because they made computers to facilitate mass genocide? (Goldwin's alert)

PS. If people really choose any option that gives them more money, but gives people they hate a ridiculous amount of money, because they don't want giving people they hate money... then they probably don't deserve money to begin with.

I wouldnt mind getting in on this idea if you need help. We could call ourselves 2-2. Everyone will start buying from us since we are much cheaper than all of the other retailers.
