....... that was in response to this statement: "he would have to be an idiot to check the turn with a made hand"

Why are we winning more by betting into his non-made hands exactly?

I haven't seen any information in this post that would indicate he's bluff pushing this river other than wishful thinking. Imo it's nuts to assume that of unknown tags.

Ego,

We are betting the river primarily for value. With the turn being checked through, we may have instilled some false sense of security in what is an inferior hand to ours. We are looking to get called from marginal hands like Jx all the way down to even A9.

The fact that he may bluff raise with busted diamonds or even a missed straight draw (with or without a pair) makes a bet even more enticing. But getting him to bluff is not our primary goal. It is a perk. Not missing value is our objective.

So now villain is calling 3bets w/ j8s and A9 and is also checking behind the turn on this J79Q 2s board? I think he shows up with those hands rarely. I also think our hand is very well concealed. I think we're going to see pp's a lot more than A9 type hands, and very few of those call this river but may take a stab when checked to. But that's just my opinion.

KJ,JTs,A9s,SC d's,ect.....

These hands are not farfetched for opponent to have. And I believe most of them would check the turn often enough, yes.

If you have read the thread, you will see that I firmly believed we were ahead from the very beginning and am just looking for a way to extract the most. B/c seems to fit the bill. If you disagree, well so be it.

i want to say that it's VERY hard to think an opponent will bluff shove this river, i mean, i do it, some other people here do it, some terrible donks do it, but your standard run of the mill guy just doesn't do it. dudes can't bluff shove TT they have no idea wtf is going on- this guy obv can, but i'd estimate that 10% of msnl does this on any sort of regular basis.;

Yeah but the point is that it's even less likely that your "standard run of the mill guy" would ever play a better hand this way.
