Default NL Cash .50-$1, facing turn bet

I was only playing villian for a few minutes. He check raised me a few time on the turn and I folded about every time except for once when I called him down with 2nd pair and it was good enough to beat his 3rd pair. Also, he did 3bet me one time preflop, I folded and he showed AQs. Then this hand came up...

Hero (BB): $78.10
SB: $57.70

Preflop: Hero is dealt T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB calls $0.50, Hero raises to $3.00, SB calls $2.00

Flop: ($6) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $4.00, SB calls $4.00

Turn: ($14) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB bets $17.95,
Hero???

What do you do? What do you put him on?

Not betting this turn would seem to be reallly bad. I call now you have played it like this

So I guess checking is pretty bad here but if I do 3/4 pot the turn and he pushes are you calling off here?

call turn
call river

but evaluate river. cant see him limp call better A or 55-77

Im 50/50 on calling a push if we bet turn.

cant see why 4 instead of 3 preflop would help anything
