raise more preflop. you're not playing 100bb online poker here, you're 6k deep and in bad position, make it at least 200 straight. your raise to 120 is just a pot-builder in this game, and the good deep-stacked players (i'm pretty sure who the villain was, and he is def a good player) love these tiny--albeit "pot-sized"--preflop raises, cuz they are looking to take your whole stack.

uhh... i dont really agree. in fact, (and ive had these discussions at the table and beyond the table before) you always want people to call when you have a big overpair. like... if they call 200, make it 200, but hoepfully that doesnt telegraph KK. but if they wont call 200 but will call 120, 200 is what you do with trash and 120 with a big hand. here, i dont mind his pf raise at all. you want callers.
as for the hand, sometimes id just check the turn, and by the river, like, lol easy fold.

interestingly enough, the villain told me right after the hand that he knew i had KK. as stupid as it sounds, i still question my fold. if i know villain is a good player, and very capable of making moves, how much should that play into my river decision? i.e. i know that he knows that i have KK and that i can't call off my stack on that river? given that, is a call really that bad here?

They only say they knew you had KK after you folded and stressed about it for a while, its easy to say big things when theres just a few dots to connect.

with 3 limpers pre flop i would be raising to at least $160\$180... easy fold on river

a friend directed me to this thread.

1) raise more pf with stacks that deep.

2) check behind turn. why on earth is this not an obvious play here? you're folding out everything worse than you, and you have the 2nd nut flush draw anyway. you don't have an overly strong hand, and you're up against someone who is willing to make wild bets.

you massively reduce the chances of big river problems if you check, keep the pot smaller.

incidentally, it increases the chance a known bluffer will bluff the river, and since you checked behind, your villain won't be looking at pushing to bluff, and instead will make a smaller bet.

3) clearly, the river is a fold as played.

i don't understand all this in the HSNL forum... i normally don't read/post/play much here, but this seems fairly straightforward check behind on turn, and a massively obvious fold on river to me.
