I dont know if this has been mentioned but why not try and sign Troy Percival as a potential setup man
He came out of retirement, pitched great for the Cardianls and can be had for relatively cheap.

Right now is a great time for Yankee haters.

1) One of the best managers of the last 20 years just left
2) One of the best players of the last 20 years and the game's most dangerous hitter is leaving soon
3) One of the best right-handed pitchers of all time is completely washed up and will retire
4) The Yankees are planning on taking their best weapon out of the bullpen and making him a starter
5) One of the best closers of all time doesn't want to play for a new manager

[/ QUOTE ]

1) Good Riddence. hes not a great manager.
2)Not happy about this.
3)I love clemens but if hes comepltly washed up how is him retiring a bad thing?
4)Hes more valuabble as a starter
5)Hes about to resign.

1 outta 5 aint bad.

If he does, it will be because the Mets will be paying him $15 million+ when he is 41 years old, in the National League with no DH. That should be interesting.

No more Vyse vs. TMTTR please.

3rd base..what are our options

Cabrera seems like he will costs us Hughes or Joba unless we give up literally every other prospect in our system.

Lowell will get some crazy longterm deal that will be awful in couple of years.

Crede sucks

not sure who else we could try and trade for that would cost us the farm like MC.

could Andy LaRoche play 3rd? what would he cost

Alex Rodriguez.

You know, the FA market sucks really hard this year. The Yankees need to replace A-level talent with A-level talent. That can be done at either 3B or 1B. But it has to be done somewhere. And the only route that makes sense = trading = giving up prospects.

I'd say goodbye to Jose Tabata, personally.

LaRoche is what, iono, a top 25 prospect? So he'd still cost. Tabata for LaRoche str8 up?

edit: whoops, it's ned colletti. okay, pettitte for laroche straight up.

Tabata is coming off a injury

Kennedy and one lower grade prospect for LaRoche straight up? Torre knows Kennedy

Arod doesn't want to play in NY..he just wants to use them to drive up his price.

Have you Yanks fans read this article at hard ball times?

http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/ar...-world-series/

It seems way too complicated to ever happen, but there are some decent thoughts in there I suppose.
