Golf Applause

I don't get it.

A 3 putt tap-in for a triple gets applauded.
What - the silence would be too awkward?? - TFB

I've been to LPGA and Cdn Tour events and save my applause for shots with merit.

Explain this to me.

There are different kinds of applause...the triple bogey tap in is just the polite smattering of applause. It's not like anyone hoots and hollers for that sort of shot...there are diff kinds of applause.

I'm with the OP on this one. I think there needs to be more boos and such when someone taps in for a triple.
