Default Living In Brazil

There is a decent chance I will be living in Brazil.
Has anyone ever lived there before?
Any recomended cities?
Any info I should know?

I'm just trying to get started on learning about Brazil.

I play soccer.
I'm fluent in spanish.
I'm 24 and will be a university graduate, and I play poker.

Thanks for all the help.

edit: i want to live cheaply.
i don't want to live in an americanized area, or tourist area.

I'm aware.
I was just saying, because it makes it easier to assimilate, and learn portuguese.

You'll be fine. I am also fluent in Spanish and can carry on a simple conversation with someone who speaks Portugese.

CMI,

I opened the thread to make one, but then I saw the Spanish comment so I went down that road instead.

I would make one if I knew the Spanish word for garbage.
