I like the thought process.

Question: where did my opponent go wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

villain went wrong in lots of places.

Villain should have rr preflop to .6 cause he will be oop for the rest of the hand.
Flop: villain, should have bet $1. By now you should have folded. Say you call. Say you 3bet the flop, villain either folds or rr all in. IMO.
Turn: Villain should have laid in another, bet for $3. you would need to fold here. You call, and suck out.
River: villain, I guess ck/c, not knowing what to think. Then he will proceed to calling you names like "donkey"

you are the donkey, if you are not sure who the donkey is.

First, fold PreFlop. If you are going to play PreFlop, raise to .40 from the CO. Then the villain would have rr to 1.2 and you would know he had JJ+, AQ, and/or AK.

I don't know what to think. This is a gross hand, by both. Villain should have stuck it to you either on the flop or the turn.

We have no stats or reads on villain, and therefore no solid idea as to what hand the villain will 3-bet with preflop, or how much. I should note that with 90k+ hand under my belt now, I am not remotely surprised to see villains who never 3-bet AK, and almost always for minimum amount if they do.

As for the preflop play, K4 suited is fine from the cuttoff. The issue here isn't that Hero played it, but that he needed to raise with it. The first and most obvious reason is blind stealing. The second one I consider more important: position. I am perfectly willing to raise this hand from the cutoff preflop just to fold the button and play the rest of the hand in position.

As for the "Am I a donkey?" question, the answer is yes. Then again, so are all of the other micro posters, myself included. As long as you are putting in the effort to learn, don't sweat it.
