Anyone have any experience using aircrack or a similar program?

I am house sitting for my sister and she doesn't have an internet connection. There are about 8 wireless networks that I pick up on my laptop but all are password protected. I googled and found Aircrack and some similar programs that figure out these type of passwords, but it is a little beyond my level of computer knowledge.

Does anyone have any experience using a program like this, and if so could you briefly explain it to me?
