Villain is Gladys67 on Stars, have no stats on him but he bought in short and doesn't seem anything special. Looking back I'm not sure my flat call on the turn is the best line. All Villains actions were very slow on each street, he'd been playing fairly quick up til now. How often do people raise/fold/call the river? |

Re: Stars $2/$4 hand
Raise to like $114 on the turn, check-behind river. Gives you at least a bit of fold equity and gets you to showdown easier.

Re: Stars $2/$4 hand
First off, I'd just pot the flop. You've got a decent redraw and it's always hard to tell where people are on a straight board like this. You could try raising the turn against a smart player, relatively deep, but I'm not sure if it's going to accomplish anything against a shortstack. They're never folding a straight and it's going to be hard to place exactly which straight they're on if they push.
I think with no read at all, calling down and folding the river is fine. There's no way that you're being bluffed by a set and a hand like 98 that wants to get to showdown is very unlikely to bet more than 2/3 pot.If you specifically know that villain's a donk taking a shot, then a call's fine, but otherwise I think the river's a fold. |
