well, yeah.

but don't you feel like he has Ax a lower percentage of the time here -- because don't most Ax's feel the need to protect their hand? Assuming they don't have a diamond, in which event don't they bet for value?

I call utg raises with 77 to flop sets and stack guys with big hands, not to try to push them off those big hands. Just me though.

mlagoo,

i tihnk he could easily play AJ[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or AQ[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in this fashion. AK[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] even. it certainly has its upsides vs.. say this play you are making right now.

yeah, probably a bit of spewage. i really put him squarely on KK/QQ with a diamond though, after his flop check-call, turn check, and thought i could get him to dump it.

after he calls the turn, and the river is an ace, is my river bet terrible, or mandatory, or somewhere in between?

Just check it all the way and save the monies. Maybe valuebet if you make a flush.

I don't like it. Nothing wrong with going for the steal on the flop, and possibly the turn. The river is a spew IMO. What hand are you trying to represent?
