This scenario takes place in america. IMO, there's an easy answer here.

The key is that this scenario takes place in america. Blacks are more likely to end up in jail, less likely to go to college, have a lower life expentancy, etc.

I think the answer would be closer to a coinflip in england, or france, but I'm not positive.

Change the scenario to two different babies. You don't know their skin color, but you know that one of them probably won't live as long as the other.

Ok, I will entertain your rather simplistic view. Is knowing which one is likely to live longer the only information I have upon choosing? If so the pick is obvious. However your 2nd question is not even close to the same as the first so I'm not sure what that proves. I made the mistake in thinking you were asking the question on a much deeper level.

Now please entertain my narrow minded answer to your question: I pick the black baby because the white one is more likely to shoot up his high school then off himself.

False. Also, white people are more likely to committ suicide than black people. How do I know this? We studied suicide in one of my sociology classes.
