crai vs donkish villain
villain sucks, 45/15/2.5 over 50 hands
Is a fold better? Re: crai vs donkish villain
sure, but 45/15 isn't really a "maniac"

"sure this is standard" or "sure this is a fold"

Re: crai vs donkish villain
I think with the strait coming in I would consider calling down after turn. Shoving isn't bad though, i dont think...
I would've reraised the flop though. |

Re: crai vs donkish villain
I think reraising flop is preferable, since the 9 on turn isnt't a great card. Since villain raises to $20 if you RR you are committing yourself on flop which is better than on the turn IMO. As played I think I'd check-call turn

Re: crai vs donkish villain
Why should I reraise the flop? I fold out many hands that I will get value from and if he pushes I'm probably behind but commited.
I think the flop play is pretty much standard, the question on the turn is: what hands are in his range and what is he going to do with them (check behind, bet/call, bet/fold). Then I can make a decision based on how my hand stands against his range. 3-betting the flop just because I have aces is a bad way to approach the situation imo. I'm not talking about the 3bet itself but the reason behind it. If there is a reason for 3betting and it has a higher expectation it shoudl be used obviously. I think it is bad because a) it folds out air b) it folds out marginal hands I can get more value of c) it commits me to the hand but if he pushes I'm far behind his range d) there are not many draws bet/folding the turn is not a gread idea imo because of a) and c) and d) but I have to call a push since he can easily have TJ or QJ and I am getting good odds. c/rai is not too great as well in retrospect, because he can not have hands like AQ or KQ (preflop action, he limp-called with a pfr of ~15). If he would have coldcalled my pfr on the button a stackadonk is probably a good line to take (comments??) but not here, his range is heavily weighted on 2-pair, pair+draw and set. Even though it sucks I think I have to play the hand passively now, do I call or fold to his bet? Take into consideration that I am out of position and he might bet again on the river and there are many ugly river cards (thats why I think getting it in is generally better than calling and waiting for the river. I might fold on an ugly river to a bet from a worse hand that he figures to be ahead which would be horribly -EV for me) c/c turn and river is generally kinda ugly /edit: I just stoved a betting-range for him. He probably raises TT+, KJ+ and AQ preflop. You could add a few combinations of it into his range but he could also have air so that equals out. Board: Qs Tc 3h 9d Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 46.074% 46.07% 00.00% 1338 0.00 { AdAs } Hand 1: 53.926% 53.93% 00.00% 1566 0.00 { 99, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o } |
