Default L@TB, Deep. I\'ve read too many poker books.

In particular, Super System 1. It's been a few years but some things stuck, I guess. Anyway, the hand:

10/20nl @ Bike. Villain is a very young but very good, aggressive player that always buys in very deep every game he plays (Arie, as I'm sure it'll be asked, plays a lot at the 20/40nl Commerce game). He's very LAG pre-flop but pretty solid post-flop for the most part, with the occasional well-timed move mixed in. I bought in for 10k but have been getting hammered left and right and am down to like 7600 to start the hand. He covers.

3 limpers and he makes his standard 100 to go on the Button. I look downat 8,9o and make it 500. He's the only caller.

Flop: 8,T,Qr
I lead out for 700, he thinks for a little bit and makes it 2300. I weigh my options and shove.

Thoughts?

Kirk

There's a lot to consider in a hand like this. How much have you played with Arie? I don't think I like the play out of the blinds all that much, seems like a big risk for small reward IMO. Had Arie raised and got 3 callers and it got to you and you popped to 800-1000 I'd like it a lot more.

As it is you are repping a monster hand, but we all know how often people will go to the felt with weakish hands so I'd be leary.

As played, I'd probably fold to his reraise. I might sometimes check/raise the flop (if I'd done that with a set during the session with good results especially).

I don't love this flop to shove on, either, lots of hands fit his likely range that will call your shove. If it was 5-9-Qr I'd like your play a lot better.

Been reading thru SS2 again, which is just like SS1, and missed this part. I think you have real good FE but, even so, as mentioned the risk/reward is high and not crazy about the spot.
