Default Hmmm, little concerned about the D\'Amato/PPA thing..called off?

It was "leaked" by the PPA that discussions with D'Amato were taking place. Alyn Jaffery Shulman mentioned it in her article last week.

Pokerplayenewspaper posted an article last sunday saying the announcement may be up by daylight (which would have been Monday morning).

Someone very close to the situation told me at least 2 weeks ago the announcement was set for Feb 26th.

Hmmm, now I can't find out anything and there is no announcement.

The NYT article I mentioned last week....seems to be on hold as well.

WTF?

Default Maybe they just don\'t realize \"WHO YOU ARE\" ?

"leaked" by the PPA "

"Alyn Jaffery Shulman mentioned it in her article last week."

"Pokerplayenewspaper posted an article '

"Someone very close to the situation told me ... "

"now I can't find out anything ..... WTF"

Maybe they just don't realize "WHO YOU ARE" ?

Why not pick up a phone and call one of these sources, or your contact at the NY Times ? After all, you read or spoke to them before and once they know "who you are", they will fill you in, I am sure.

Did you not read the part where I said "now I can't get anything"

I don't have a "source" at the NYT. Someone contacted me. It's not like I can call them up and they're going to tell me anything.

I'm not sure why you quoted the "leak by the PPA" and the Shulman article....that was all from the article on cardplayer.

Thanks for the outstanding post Milton. You've been a ton of help. Now you should go back to armchair quarterbacking about tons of stuff you know nothing about.

No wonder so many of the big pro players that made 2+2 so popular in the first place never post here anymore. Too many complete jerks.

I'm confused. I thought that the NYT and other sources said this was a done deal. Did they merely report this was under discussion?

Either way, I doubt the delay is making a formal announcement is that significant. Probably just the PPA being ineffecient again.

holla, when the NYT guy contacted you, you didn't take down his number to be able to call him back?

sniper, you're killing me. Of course I have the guys contact info. I know his name, his email, and his phone number.

You think if I call him up, he's going to tell me all the info he knows?

I've tried that and as I stated in my original post, it didn't work.

holla,

Did he say one of these 4 things:

1. I can't tell you anything
2. I'm still working on the story
3. Its in process, I have no idea when or if it will go to print
4. The editors killed the story

Just trying to be clear...

God, I would hope it's called off. I don't know much about New York politics, but even way down South I've heard enough rumors and news stories about the Senator D'Amato's ethical issues to say that I can't say I'd ever, ever want him as a spokesperson or lobbyist for any cause I cared about. I'm just sayin. Maybe somebody informed the PPA about the good Senator's problematical history.
