Re: $2m+ Baccarat scam busted at Toronto area casino
From what I read in the Chicago Tribune today, there was technology and false shuffles being used so it appears that they were using a scam also used at times in Blackjack, where a player/onlooker inputs the card values as they come out, the values are fed into a computer, and as the cards are put back into use, they are kept in the exact same order as they came out and the computer tells the players the best way to play the hands, essentially a foolproof system for winning, provided the inputs and programming are correct. Basically, they would be playing the same exact sequence of cards twice in a row, as the dealer uses a false shuffle. I'm guessing they were busted because at tape review of the play, the same card sequences tipped it off.

how did they do it ? they say police didnt release their methods . but maybe someone might have an idea [/ QUOTE ] i heard about htis a couple yeras ago not long after it happened. the word back then was that the decks were rigged ahead of time and then waren't properly shuffled when they were brought into play (or maybe weren't even shuffled at all). rigging baccarat any other way would probably be quite difficult. |

[/ QUOTE ] "Cold decks" are the other obvious method, although MUCH more dangerous, as it entails actually smuggling an entire shoe of cards in and swapping it with the casino's shoe. Takes iron balls, to be sure. The fact that technology was mentioned with the false shuffle would lead me to believe the computer deck I described earlier is more likely, however, but then again, often baccarat cards are used once and discarded, ( they get bent to hell by superstitious players if allowed), so it seems to come down to whether the casino in question re-used baccarat cards or not. If they DO re-use, it was a computer replay deck, ( there is a specific term for this that escapes me currently...), and if they only use cards once, it was a cold deck brought in. |

My insider source tells me the were using the same deck but in reverse order, so the players would have to remember the order. The dealer would not wash the cards and ditch the new deck.

Re: $2m+ Baccarat scam busted at Toronto area casino
It was most likely on mini bac rather than big bac. So cards are def used more than once. I heard they used a shoe multiple times with no shuffle. So once it was tracked they knew how it would come out
