Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
I've been running bad lately and am starting to question my play, I need to run a few typical hands past you guys to see if my play has deteriorated or if it's just variance:
All hands converted with: Converter Hand #1: Villain (SB) is 25/21/2.5. Limit Holdem Ring game 6 players Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises, 3 folds, SB 3-bets, BB folds, Hero calls. Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5.4SB, 2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls. Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4.7BB, 2 players) SB bets, Hero calls. River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6.7BB, 2 players) SB bets, Hero calls. Results: Final pot: 8.7BB I tend to call down with TPGK HU no matter, when should I drop it? *** Hand #2: Villain is 57/1/0.4 after just a few hands Limit Holdem Ring game 6 players Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 folds, hero raises, SB folds, BB calls. Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4.4SB, 2 players) BB checks, hero bets, BB raises, hero calls. Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4.2BB, 2 players) BB bets, hero calls. River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6.2BB, 2 players) BB bets, hero calls. Results: Final pot: 8.2BB When do I drop this, if at all? *** Hand #3: Villain is 21/7/0.8 but still this is early in the session and I haven't played him before. Limit Holdem Ring game 6 players Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 folds, hero raises, SB calls, BB folds. Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5SB, 2 players) SB checks, hero bets, SB calls. Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3.5BB, 2 players) SB checks, hero bets, SB raises, hero calls. River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7.5BB, 2 players) SB bets, hero calls. Results: Final pot: 9.5BB Now in these HU situations I tend to bleed, still I can't fold such a big hand when I know he can't put me on such a big hand. But the turn check-raise is so often strong at this site, should I just fold? *** Hand #4: Limit Holdem Ring game 6 players Villain is 32/9/0.8 Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is SB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 folds, hero raises, BB calls. Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2.4SB, 2 players) hero bets, BB calls. Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2.2BB, 2 players) hero bets, BB raises, hero calls. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6.2BB, 2 players) hero checks, BB bets, hero calls. Results: Final pot: 8.2BB I'm getting 7:1 on my river call, is it worth it with his turn raise? *** Hand #5: SB is 49/8.5/0.6, UTG is 58/25/1.4 (small sample) Limit Holdem Ring game 5 players Pre-flop: (5 players) hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG raises, 2 folds, SB calls, hero calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6SB, 3 players) SB checks, hero checks, UTG bets, SB calls, hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls. Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6BB, 3 players) SB checks, hero bets, UTG calls, SB calls. River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (9BB, 3 players) SB checks, hero checks, UTG checks. Results: Final pot: 9BB Now the turn should I bet my flushdraw even though it was the A? Should I just check and pray for the free card? *** I could go on and on but these will suffice for now. Any comments appreciated, those with both a what and why even more. Thx in advance. |

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
i think only hand 2 is bad i'd probably drop it on the flop against someone that passive

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
Hand 1 looks okay.
Hand 2 I would fold the turn. Knowing how he plays draws (does he c-c most?) makes this easier. He's pretty passive, though. Hand 3 would require a strong read to fold. He could be doing this with weaker aces, and people are prone to doing wacky stuff in blind defense situations. Hand 4 you could check the turn, depending on your opponent. There aren't too many river cards that can hurt you (though you don't really want to see another broadway) and a number of hands that make you the nuts and him a strong second best. Given your bet and his raise there's very little you beat/tie with on the river (A3-A6 is all) so if he's passive it's a fold, if he's aggressive / tricky i'd call. Hand 5 looks fine. Surf |

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
Thanks for the comments so far. I've been losing so much lately that I've really been trying to see where I can save a bet here or there. The easiest save would probably be the river on 4th and the turn on 2nd.
But lately I've almost always found that I'm never ahead in hand #1 and I'm starting to question wether I should call the turn unimproved... |

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
I think the most tempting fold is hand 4 river.

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
none of these hands stand out. they are all fine in the vacuum that we see them in. obv with more reads or whatnot we could say differently.

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
hand 1, you beat nothing of his reasonable range. but, we dont know how reasonable he is. tt, 99,88 are concievable i suppose. i dont think i could ever fold here but all signs point to it.
hand 2. i think i would dump the turn just going by numbers. if i had ever seen this guy get out o line tho its a good calldown as he could have a flush or straight draw. ak and aq also play this way often so the turn card def sucks. hand 3. def must call this down. worse aces aj, a9 will play this way. axcc will do this. you are on the button so you will get less respect generally and players will willingly raise worse aces against your apparent "steal" hand 4. so much posturing in these blind steals makes this an easy calldown. hand 5. i can find a value bet here. no indication anyone has an ace and worse qs and ts are paying off all day. |

Re: Reality check, has my play deteriorated (multipl. hands)
Thx for the response Victor.
Hand #1 I was beat and every time I see his hand I think to myself: Man, he told me PF and on the flop that I was beat and still I just called down, why won't I listen. I really think I should start folding the turn there when his potential flush makes it in case he played AsKs like that. And even if he doesn't have two spades he could easily have one spade that takes away one of my potential outs... |
