Default Stars 4.40 KK hand

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO (t7195)
Button (t5415)
SB (t4050)
Hero (t2005)
UTG (t1850)
UTG+1 (t1975)
MP1 (t7065)
MP2 (t2600)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls t100, 3 folds, CO calls t100, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero raises to t500, UTG calls t400, CO calls t400, SB folds.

Flop: (t1600) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets t1505 (All-In),

Was this good poker? The flop push was really bad? I am guessing that no worse hands were calling, but I was also trying to represent strong ace to push people out in case someone called with ace rag, is this a valid tactic?

No one is folding an ace here.

If you had a strong ace why would you be going all in? You wouldn't be trying to scare them out.

No ace is folding - is that because of the size of the initial raise?

A stronge ace is still only top pair - still vulnerable.

What would the correct play be? I did consider checking but I think I got attached to the hand. Checking KK with just an A on the board seems so weak?

Well, you got two callers to your initial raise. It's always reasonable to count most Aces in their ranges.

You push that flop, they're not folding many Aces, probably not some spade draws either.

Why do you think folding KK is weak? You're drawing to two outs at best if either have an Ace.

What do you think those donkeys called your preflop raise with? Someone had to have an Ace and isn't going to fold.

Check-fold.

It may seem weak, but it's still a heck of a lot better than losing the tourney right here and now.

Try and lose that macho "Milwakees Best" attitude - you'll do much better in poker. And in other things, too.
