Laptop memory upgrade question
I have a Dell 600m I purchased in 2004 with 512k memory, and I would like to upgrade this. I don't really know (and have been unable to find out) whether I have two memory slots or one. I also don't know the exact specs of my current memory.
I found this on the Dell Web site, but am assuming I can get a better upgrade for cheaper. Is there an equivalent on a site like newegg? I want the best performance from my computer, but don't want to spend much more than the Dell price if possible. I'm also very competent with computers given a sample of the general population, but am a novice compared to most on this forum. All help is much appreciated. Trey |

Re: Laptop memory upgrade question
The memory for your laptop is located where the battery is at at the bottom of your laptop
it has two slots with a maximum of 2*1gb memory sticks I had a similar comp and I bought my memory from a seller on eBay http://www.memoryx.net/dein60me.html |

Re: Laptop memory upgrade question
Cool, thanks. I think I'll go with a 1gb upgrade for now. Is installing it pretty self explanatory?

go to crucial.com and run a system scan. It will tell you exactly what memory you have and what you can upgrade to.
