No sound

I get the message "There are no activer mixer devices available" when i go to the control panel and try to adjust sound. As of now I have no sound. Any ideas on how to get this to work would be nice

in the device manager Uninstall the sound card and restart the computer. windows will reinstall the driver or you can re-download it somewhere.
