This is nonsense.

China says eff-u to the U.S. when America whines about piracy and we say eff-u to the EU when it comes to online gaming. No offense to anyone who believes this nonsense but those who think the US would actually spend 20% of its annual military budget to satisfy a WTO imposed penalty related to online gaming is on crack.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe I missed it, but I don't think anyone actually expects the US to pay. They expect that the threat of the fine will cause undefined things to happen.

Also, anyone who thinks the nations levying the fine expect the US to pay are equally deluded. There are no aged bureaucrats rubbing their sausagelike fingers together in anticipation of their share of the 100 billion.

Yeah, go ahead and vote for Hillary and watch your taxes, businesses, health care, and the war on terror implode.

[/ QUOTE ]

More importantly, let's not pretend that the Democrats in the U.S. are gambling-friendly. Or, for that matter, WTO-friendly.

[/ QUOTE ]

God I wish they would just delete all of this political talk. It is simple, no one likes gambling. The Democrats want to save us from it and the Republicans think we are going to hell.

No one is in our corner, the only people that appear to be in our corner have their hand out and mostly are just trying to appear the opposite of the other group.

Gay Marriage could pass in a general election before the legalization of internet gaming in all 50 states.

More accurate that way.

No, I'm not a Republican, but tarring all Republicans with one brush because some of them are idiots isn't useful.

US facing fine for online gambling ban

The disputed concessions arise from Antigua's victory earlier this year when the WTO ruled that the US violated its treaty obligations by excluding online Antiguan gaming operators, while allowing domestic operators to offer various forms of online gaming. Instead of complying with the ruling, the Bush administration withdrew the sizeable gambling industry from its free trade commitments. As a result, all 151 WTO members are considering seeking compensation for the withdrawal equal to the size of the entire US land-based and online gaming market, estimated at nearly US$100 billion.

Man, I am getting Ron Paul-ed out. Everyone says that he's getting blocked by the other candidates, but I don't think I would be able to name any other Republican candidate.

No politician is pro-gambling because there is no political incentive to stand up for gamblers. The one exception to this is when they want to rape poor people by putting in casinos to "generate income for schools," when in reality education funding stays the same, and the extra lines gov't coffers.

please don't vote for hillary, I like keeping some of my paycheck. Socialism doesn't work, we don't need to let the lunatic fringe run the country.
