Any reads on the villian? Not sure if his flop bet is just continuation or trying to get more money in the pot.The way the hand played out I would say villian was on a flush draw?

I would have raised the flop to see where I was in the hand and re-evaluate?

I think you played it fine. I don't like raising the flop, betting the turn accomplishes same thing.

Dude, you left him with 85c, you might as well put him in on the turn.

I'm a rookie so could you explain why the raise on the flop is ugly. Seems to me by calling you are giving a flush draw or strght draws cheap cards on the turn to hit his hand. Also the call tells you nothing about your hand.

Like I said,I am a newb and trying to expand my knowledge. Not at all trying to be argumenative just looking for why the flop raise is ugly so I can improve my game!

Thanks

There's really no value in raising because most worse hands won't call and most better hands won't fold. Also his hand isn't really that strong (top pair ok kicker)

When we bet our hand to "protect" from draws, it means that we are actually charging them a price. We actually want them to call, but at a bad price.

In this case, we tend to get little value from drawing hands, and lose quite a bit to better hands by raising. People at this level usually don't play bet their draws well.
