Re: I Don\'t See a Problem....
Okay, at first I thought your street was just off to the left, glad I am picturing this right. :P

All,
"I could still find multiple cars facing the wrong freaking direction." I've never understood people parking facing the wrong way. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'd like to think they have a reason like they feel safer not having to open their door into traffic or something stupid like that, but its probably just because they're really really lazy [censored]. |

Re: I Don\'t See a Problem....

For left hand turns it could be more of a problem but left hand turns are ALWAYS a problem. I'm an avid practioner of right-hand turns and then doing a U-turn to get going the direction I want. Since I've been doing this I've had no accidents. [/ QUOTE ] This is the policy in parts of Jersey, no left turns. I think it's the most nittish idea ever, and is one of the reasons I hate that state. |

Re: I Don\'t See a Problem....
To reference with the previous pic, the red SUV was parked behind the silver sedan(which left during my "creepy guy taking cameraphone pictures of parked cars" routine). The red SUV shown above is a good 20-25 feet away from gray curb. Again, this particular situation is not that bad. It's when you get another car behind the red SUV that you get the "pull all the way into the intersection to make a right" traffic snarl. |

Re: I Don\'t See a Problem....
Call the cops. Why risk your an 'accident' (that will be your fault since other people are driving straight and you're turning/merging) for some idiots who park backwards?

[/ QUOTE ] i have no idea why this could bother anyone [/ QUOTE ] It doesn't really bother me, but the fact that they just can't pull into traffic and go without having to cross a lane of oncoming traffic seems like it would be a little more dangerous. I'm sure on a street like this there probably isn't that much traffic and they can just pull out and get over into their lane or do a U turn or whatever they're going to do without problems, but I can see why people would be uncomfortable driving down a street that has people pulling out like this. Its gotta be a little hard to see for a car if they park behind a truck and can't see oncoming traffic and since their mirrors are pointing the wrong way they can't see what's coming using them either. |

Re: I Don\'t See a Problem....
i guess a lot of it is because the roads here in england are way narrower. its basically impossible to do a straight u-turn on most of the streets. if i see a parking spot i'm immediately taking it and worrying about getting out later. alright, its a little bit of hassle but i don't think it's as dangerous as it's being made out to be (but again, that could be due to the narrower roads)
