please educate me on delivery routes for supermarkets.

Looking through a business selling site, I came across something that interested me. It is buying a route that delivers Mission Corn Chips to 3 supermarkets. What kind of business is this? I make up that I pick up the product somewhere, drive to the store in my own truck, display the product, ?????, Profit, and repeat.

Any info is greatly appreciated. I would hire a professional to counsel me if I were to go through to help with valuation, negotiation, contracts, etc....
