Default $55 PP - 88 on the bubble

All players are pretty decent.
UTG is very good.
Button is abusing the bubble, raising pretty wide here. Not necessarily any2 tho.

No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t300/t600

Stack sizes:
UTG: t1990
Button: t12340
Hero: t2190
BB: t3480

UTG folds, Button raises to t2400, Hero ???

With my ICM spreadsheet, I got that you need 60.7% chance to win to make this call, and if I give villian the top 50% of hands, your equity is 60.7%.... so it's a virtual toss up with those assumptions. In the heat of battle, I probably call and get rivered vs Q2.

Its a real nasty situation. Obviously you don't want to call here, but I guess you should because the blinds are so high (you got less then 3.5bb). If the blinds were 200/400 id fold this. But in this spot, with 3.5bb and my biggest competition being a very good player.. I will get it in and hope for the best. Although id really prefer to go all-in vs. BB/UTG instead of the uber big stack (the equity you get from him by winning isn't that great compared to BB/UTG)

plus has position, plus is big big big chipleader, makes your hand EV+

we got 3.5 BB, folding this would be crazy

sorry, but do you have any idea what you're talking about ?

@fishing:
I like your reasoning that getting it in vs anyone else but button has alot more equity.

But I also think you are underestimating the value of a 3.5bb stack, especially if one player is shorter than us (and will be blinded off first if he doesn't find an opportunity to push) and the other one only has 2.xbb's more.

Dunno if any of you use ICM programs but it seems to be a pretty clear fold if button isn't pushing about any2.

I get this at break even with button on about 80% and BB on only AK, JJ+. BB will probably overcall ligher making it worse for us, but more important I think is that CO is in practice smaller than us since he will hit the blinds next hand. Because of this I think it's a fold even with button on 80%.

If button is on any two it's a clear call, otherwise it's a fold. I find most people don't actually raise any 2 but will fold the very worst hands just to make it look like they are varying their play.

Button shouldn't fold any hand if we're willing to fold 88 here.

But button doesn't know we are folding 88. We are adjusting our calling range to his pushing range, which is not any2.
