At least on Stars, buying stacks is not allowed. From their tournament rules page:

[ QUOTE ]
You have progressed to the final few tables of a tournament and somebody offers you cash equity for your seat. You allow the other player to sign into your account, or you continue to finish the tournament following the explicit instructions given by him. This is prohibited.

A lot of this crap is hard to find, at least on Stars. Go to their website sometime and find the site map, there's all sorts of FAQs and rules sets for various things. I don't play the other sites, so I've had no need to go poking about their sites looking for rules, but I imagine they have something similar.

the day after bluffmagcv won i saw him at 5k HA table on ftp and he lost alot. cant remember exactly but i think his opponent had at least 6-8 bis when bluffmag left. so possibly he was dumping money to sorel/JJ and associates or maybe he lost all his seat selling money and thats why he needed staking from durrr
