Default 1/2 Live I always have problems with this, flopped trips multiway

This is a major problem that I have, I either win what's already in the pot (all the limps) or I get trapped by a better hand for waaaaay to many chips.

10 handed 1/2 Live...dealt to hero Qd 10c in the cutoff

2 early callers, 1 middle caller, I call, blinds complete.

Pot : $12 Flop Qs 8d Qh

Checks all the way around to me, I bet $15, only UTG +1, a solid local pro calls.

Turn Jd

UTG +1 checks, I bet $25 (into $42), he RR to $55....I grit and call the $30.

River 7c

He bets $55....and I know i'm in way over my head...any way to avoid this situation at all, other than just not calling preflop? What do you guys think?

Thanks alot!

Dont limp QTo lol. But this same thing can happen in the bb and such, i think if you have the read that he is a solid local pro, and he is reraising you, that he has a hand that will beat you.

everyone else think this isn't even worth limping with?

What about from the SB? If it's only $1, but not worth to limp in position for $2, then obv. it's not worth even completing SB with.

If so this is going to lower my range of hands bigtime.....

Pre-flop is fine after 3 limpers. I'm not folding QT in this spot.

Post-flop, you can probably check the turn, because you're not going to get 3 streets of value against a tight player. As played you don't beat much, fold.

Yeah, at that point you can probably guess that he's put you on Qx. Best bet is to hope to fill up.

Given game conditions your limp is fine.

You can check turn for pot control. You can fold turn when checkraised. Up to you and your situational judgement. Against a good player id check the turn, but against a bad one id fire turn and evaluate river if he just calls.

Your either way ahead or way behind, and the fact is the pot is only getting bloated if villain has a Qx or better.

Given he is a good player, and that he is UTG+1, basically all his range is ahead of you on the turn when he checkraises.

If his range is:
KK+,JJ-88,AQs,KQs,QTs+,AQo,KQo,QJo

Your a 60% fave on the turn. For the record, i think this represents what he can check call the flop with so you should definately fire the turn (well, apart from the times you pot control ).

But his check raise range now shifts to:
JJ,88,AQs,KQs,QTs+,AQo,KQo,QJo

Which now makes you a 16.7% fave.

Of course, you will never know this at the time, but it should give you a good indicator for how to play these situations in the future.

Edit: Thinking about it he probably wouldnt have QJo or KQo all that often, but i know a lot of good players who would show up here. The numbers are roughly the same, youre 67% in the first revised range, and your like 17% in the second, so its basically the same deal.
