Default Problems with sound on FTP

Sometimes the sound on FTP stops working for me and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

It seems to happen only when I'm web-browsing, but not always. Sometimes shutting down FTP and restarting it fixes it, other times I need to reboot my computer.

When this happens the sound for other applications still works. No, I didn't accidentally turn off the sound options, etc. Any thoughts?

*edit- if this is the wrong place move to computer help if needed

This is a common problem. Most people fix it by opening WinAmp or whatever and playing a song. You will hear a loud beep, and Full Tilt sound will be back to normal.

Happened to me for the 1st time yesterday. I stopped playing and rebooted.

I'll try playing a CD or something next time, thanks.
