Default Buying a New Television

Tried a search, didn't find what I needed, so...

I don't know crap about flat panels, high def, uh, plasma, projection TV's. Do they all have the cable ready and the remote controls now?

Please tell me what to buy without making me broke.

Best quality and best value, please.

I know y'all know.

Well, defining a budget was part of the point of my post. I don't know if I should be thinking $1500 or $3000.

I wouldn't spend more than that. It just seems goofy.

Yeah, we really need more info on what you're after. Generally speaking, take a long look at Westinghouse LCD tv's. They truly are every bit as good as most Toshiba, Sony, etc and cost 1/2 to 2/3 the price.

Make sure you get 1080p resolution.

I'm buying a tv soon too. Could you please explain to me why I should get a 1080p model instead of anything else? Pretend you're talking to a 5 year old.

Would you prefer a flat panel type TV or a Boxy type HDTV, that, I can help you a lot more after that.
