You misplayed the hand - you had to push him of his Cards on River ! - his odds were too bad to call a River shove !

OP,

You have outs to improve after the flop.
After you miss them betting is complete and the hand is over.
The bus to valuetown left the station on the turn.

What is special here? He was obv slowplaying, a very standard move for experienced poker players. This way his strong hand kept totally concealed. I bet you didn't expect so see him flip over quads after that?!! You got outplayed here IMO.
