5/10 AJs live
UTG just joined. He seems like a tight player for this table (that means his VPIP would be around 60 or so), and Granddad is loose and passive. He plays 90% of his hands, and doesn't care if its raised or not. He usually rebuys for 50-150 and loses this in two orbits. He is down a bit, and complaining that his turned top pair (with K4 or something) doesn't hold up on the river against a rivered fullhouse. He only raises on later streets with two pair or better.
I have A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] after 4 limpers in the CO, I raise for value and the big blind and the rest calls. Flop: (13 sb, 8 players) 6 4 2, with one heart bb bets, couple of calls(3) and folds, which don't mean anything, I peel, and we see the turn. Turn: (9BB, 5 players) A, no flushdraws possible. BB bets, which I didn't expect if he couldn't beat an A here. Two folds. Granddad calls and I call as well. River: (12 BB, three players) J BB bets once more, granddad raises I call and UTG calls. |

Seems fine.
Did you have a specific question? |

It does look good, though I'd expect to chop with the reads you have.

Re: 5/10 AJs live
I think that your two pair is often best here but I also like going for the over-call on the river rather than raising.

Re: 5/10 AJs live
No one would raise the turn here? Not sure if it is best, but I think I probably would. Think there is a good chance UTG has a weaker ace?

Re: 5/10 AJs live
It just felt like a really weird hand.
The flop peel is not standard for me yet, as I am not used to playing these loose games (1/2 online is way harder), so I questioned this. Would you peel without the heart? I also thought of raising the turn & the river. Turn I had some tricky feeling I wasn't ahead because BB still bet at me. And what about my river play, how often is there more value in a raise than a call? ps: Why can't I edit my orignal post. I messed up and want to fix it, It was BB that bet the turn and river. |

Re: 5/10 AJs live
I'm not sure I do now either - I had thought a different person bet the turn than had bet the flop; OP noted later that he had made a mistake.

[/ QUOTE ] Well not to sound condescending but it's a game of imperfect information...I raise with the overlay we're getting here. I guess if you're at the table & don't think he'll bet less than 2pair call is fine, although that also sounds like a player who will fear AA & won't 3bet anything. |
