Default Beatable?

My local B&M casino just had a brilliant idea. Increasing profits by charging 10% rake on low limit (2/4) tables. The game generally is very soft (5/6 people to the flop. Only raising the nuts on the river etc.). They used to charge 5%. I made about 2-3BB per hour (small sample size). I think they deal about 25 hands/hour. My question is if this game is still beatable, and by how much per hour you'd think?

Wow, I've never played live and after reading this i have not intention of until i'm at 20/40 level and that is a long way off. 25 hands an hour sounds so dull at this limit and with 10% rake.

It probably is still beatable if the games are as soft as you say as the pots will be huge, but i personally would travel further a field and find a better casino, or just play for fun and see any money you make as a bonus.

The problem is that in the Netherlands casino's are state businesses, and there is no other option for playing live. I can play 10/20 for 5% rake, but this is WAY above my current poker bankroll

I'd personally use that time playing online if you play poker just for the money that is, and build up you bankroll quickly so you can play higher limits or you will be playing at 2/4 live forever.

I'm English and am forunate enough like you to still be able to play party, and there are nearly always 2/4 games that are still incredibly soft compared to every other site ive played.

Make the most of it, as you can bet every American on here would if they could play on party.

Another problem is that I don't really enjoy playing online. It bores me, which is weird because I can play like 8x more hands per hour.

I must admit, there are times where i'm sure i'm playing online poker out of habit rather than really wanting to play. Its almost hypnotic at times.

WOW, thats quite frightening.

Some new info. it seems that the cap is at two and a half Big Bet. More reasonable now?

All streets or just preflop and the flop. If you can't jam the pot on the turn and river, this game will be a crap shoot. You will not be able to protect your hands.

I think he means the cap on the rake. I think thats really beatable if its your typical loose-passive game.

that is ridiculous, 5% capped at $10 at 2/4? Find a cardroom or play online and play at the 20/40 game. If you can beat 2/4 live at 2-3BB/hour then you definitely look into taking a shot at the 20/40 game.
