Default 1/2 JJ UTG line check

I usually don't fold on rivers for one bet (6max background), but it just felt like I was really beat. I would have played it the same if the turn was a 2 of clubs. BB is 40/15/1 on a micro sample (20 hands), MP1 is 80/5/0.6 over the same size. I haven't noticed any particular hands with these people. Like it?

looks good to me. that river bet is kinda thin though; i might just check behind him and see what's up.

I see no problem with a river bet. Calling the c/r is hmmm.

I think the fold is right, as far as bet/fold or check/call, both have advantages and disadvantages -- that said, without a read I much prefer check/call because if either of our opponents are capable of a bluff raise here, we're giving away a pretty large pot. Instant 16.25BB swing.

I think the hand is fine. We're missing value by checking behind to hands like A6,77,88,99,TT etc.

As for b/f vs b/c on the river, I honestly am not really sure. In the heat of the moment, I would probably call at 16:1, but maybe that is bad. I don't know.

IMO the river bet is fine. I think I call the raise though expecting to lose more than half the time but win more than 1 in 15.

With pots so big, I think you can only bet river if you are prepared to call a raise.....or have exceptional reading skills.

rly?

if you think it is +EV to bet the river then bet the damn river. If you get raised then you have another decision to make that is seperate to the decision to bet. Im not saying you cant make plans to get to SD but how often are you getting raised here? Is Qx raising? You dont know it is going to be raised when it is checked to you.

if you are prepared to check the river to MP and call a bet you are letting him showdown his worse hands for free and letting him bet his Qx hands for value. Also theres a section in SSHE that talks about when to bet marginal hands for value on the river which talks about how it depends on your opponents. I think it also talks about whether or not to bet the river depends on your opponents. Against non tricky oppponents who call with anything but only raise with huge hands you can bet value bet more liberally.Against tricky/tight opponents you may get less value and how to handle a raise can be less clear. These two opponents dont seem the tricky type.

as for getting CRed in a protected pot well.. what does that normally mean?

I agree with this in all cases except the one the OP faced. I really can't see any sane (or even insane person) making a raise here with a worse hand after MP1 calls.
