Default Stop, (blind) thief!

Commerce 20/40 chow/meow.

Villain and I have never played before tonight but we recently got involved in the following hand: I raise a limper with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and the SB calls and he calls in the BB. The flop comes down K95 with one spade and he checkraises me, so we go heads up to the turn. I put him on a 9. The turn was a 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] so I raised his lead on a standard semi-bluff with at least 12 outs if not 18. He folded right away. So I think he's going to get a bit more defensive against me now...

OK so folded to me on the button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I fold. No just kidding, of course I raise. SB folds and he calls from the BB.

Flop is JT4 with one diamond. He check-calls.
Turn is 9, not a diamond. Check-check.
River is K. He checks, I...

I would bet this river 100% of the time vs this opponent but I go out of my way to construct a tight straight forward image when I play live.

I think your turn check was excellent. The BB is extremely likely to have a pair at this point and hes not folding IMO. Plus getting check/raised in this spot would suck and you get to avoid that negative event.
