If your opponent is slightly more conservative OOP HU then defending SB with 43o on a consistent basis, even on the button, is probably wrong. Against someone trying to run you over HU and raising virtually every hand you'd probably be remiss to sacrifice your button if he's raising every hand. Even then, I suspect, folding is still a viable option. But calling up to 30% of the time against this type of opponent seems right.
