I know little about cars except horsepower and basic benchmarks etc, but i am IN LOVE with the look of the jaguar S-type R. For those of you that don't know what this thing is, it looks like this









Now, this isn't your normal jaguar s-type. This is the Type R, which is INSANELY fast. 400 horsepower supercharged, just watch this video from Top gear. Fast forward to 1:40 and close at 4:40 here

Now, the i love the look of it. I love the power of it. The only reason i'm concerned this might be a BEAT is because i know nothing of jaguar quality, or for that matter, this specific model. Looking for opinions on beat/brag, and also any specific insight to any problems with the car. I'd only be looking to drive it for probably less than 2 years. I'm 21 years old. Thanks all

Don not buy expensive cars unless you cannot use the money for anything else. You can go on a lot of really expensive vacations for the yearly cost of that car. Living it up on vacations impresses b!tches a lot more than driving around in a jag.

However I agree it is a beautiful car, and if I wouldn't have to deal with a budget constraint I'd get one.

brag: exclusive; won't see many people with the same car
beat: there is a reason for that; jags are fords, there are much better cars for the money, car is extremely outdated

variance: you would have a very nice car regardless

If I didn't focus in on the cat in the side view pic, I couldn't tell it apart from a $15K car from the mid 90s like a Saturn or something.

From other angles it is OK... what are your other choices?

I had one. It is insanely fast for a little european car, but its not worth the money. It takes high octane gas, they are notorious for form and finish problems (like doorhandles that don't work, like on mine for two years that they never could fix right) Also, you know how with most cars people say its "bigger inside than it looks?" Well, this one is smaller inside than it looks. Mine also had some engine problem that the dealership blamed on "bad gas" but the gas station is on my corner and no one else's car got screwed up.

Its a cool car to open up on the highway (you feel like your driving in a grand prix event) but all the little problems add up.

You are very smart sir, as this is still the case.
The Jag is a hot-looking car, but noone will ever see it O.P. because it will always be at the mechanics.
