Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
[ QUOTE ]
It might go about 4 hours. But if you look at the play, it's slowed to a crawl because of the size of the blinds. No action/play at all. Basically, walks around the table. Maybe 1 or 2 hands to 3rd street. No very exciting coverage for ESPN. [/ QUOTE ] That's not the blinds...that's just Razz. |

It's not very exciting to follow the tourney online when I see this: # David Singer (7 Card Stud) David Singer completes to 30,000 with the {6-Diamonds}, winning the antes and the bring in. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] From Pokernews.com [ QUOTE ] Amnon Filippi vs. Kenny Tran (Razz) Amnon Filippi and Kenny Tran are both vying for the chip lead, and they clash in a big pot. I play 10/20-30/60 razz all the time on Full Tilt and Stars and have never seen anything like it. You see some really bad razz play in online HORSaments, but usually nothing like this in $100+ MTTs. |

Tran is no doubt drawing to a T high on 5th. If Filippi has two high cards in the hole, then Tran is ahead. Even one high card is not hopeless. And of course the J on 6th gives him more hope. [/ QUOTE ] This is exactly the thinking that gets bad Razz players in trouble. Even if Filippi IS bluffing AND Tran catches a made 10 on 6th street, Filippi probably has about 19 outs twice to a better low. There's no way he has enough equity to call a big bet on 5th street. |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
I assume Filippi was in steal position. In that case, the call on 3rd is OK with live wheel hole cards. But you have to fold 4th, even if you may have the best hand. You can't go against the boards that much.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Just saw the lil in-between break interview with Amnon. How big does he play that $2.2 mill wouldn't affect him? I'm aware he's a big cash game player and whatnot but that's gotta be an eventful sum even for the richest of folks, amirite?

This is exactly the thinking that gets bad Razz players in trouble. [/ QUOTE ] I resemble that remark. Of course we don't know what the dead cards were, perhaps that played into it. Edit: I managed to give Tran 40% equity on 5th when Filippi is not bluffing, although I admit my dead cards are a bit extreme: http://twodimes.net/h/?z=2809634 pokenum -mc 500000 -r 8h 5d 3s as 5h - 2d 4c ts 9c td / 2s 4s 2h 4d 2c 4h Razz (7-card Stud A-5 Low): 500000 sampled outcomes cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV As 3s 5d 8h 5h 298787 59.76 201213 40.24 0 0.00 0.598 Ts 9c 4c Td 2d 201213 40.24 298787 59.76 0 0.00 0.402 |

Or, if he's truly rich e.g. $100M or more, what's another mil to the good after taxes n' stuff? |
