So, i flopped a set on a farely safe board. I explain why i played it so slowly and you can critique my play.

So i flop really huge against to flat caller. I figured at this point because it was a rainbow board that i could slow down a bit. So i bet 5 which was a bit weak but the only cards i didn't want to see were a jack or a 10 so 8 outs. I guess i should have bet 10 but i wanted to keep any weak pairs involved. Then the turn was a good card which made it impossible for a flush, so i still wanted to keep everyone in the hand, i bet 10. the river was another blank and i checked. After i realized that i really should have bet here but for some reason i was affraid that UTG was possibly slow playing a 10,J and thinking that now just makes it seem even the more rediculous. so i guess its just an ugly hand and lets forget about it.

i would like to know how you would have bet every street though.

Raise to $5 preflop. Bet $10 on the flop. Bet $20 on the turn.

Basically. just keep betting close to the pot so you can shove the river.

Why did you play the hand this was? You bet far too little on every street and why did you check behind on the river?

Edit - I posted this before you 2nd post.

There's no way a player is going to check the river with JT after you showed such weakness, he will presume you will check behind. There's no point is slowplaying hands waiting for people to catch a hand, because by the time they catch it the pot is too small to make any kind of decent money from the hand anyway or else they end up catching a better hand then yours.

Gotta admit. Even I can see the flop bet is nowhere near enough. And the river check after the action we've seen? You simply must get value out of your set of K's when you get'em. What'd UTG+1 show? A weak Ace? AT?

* Invest in PT and PAHUD.

$10 on flop, $25 on turn, all-in river

Don't be scared of the nuts all the time.

There is no need to slowplay that board. It's perfect for a 2 pair vs set payoff, a dubious call by AJ, A 10 or a very unlucky player holding QQ. AA reraises you pretty much every time preflop, and 10 J...well that just gets filed in the "[censored] happens" folder.

If they both fold to a large bet on the flop (which they may very well do) then you probably weren't going to get much action with small bets either.

$10 on flop, 2/3 pot on turn, rest on river. Yep, the game is that easy kids.

You're playing this hand scared... way too scared. Move down in limits if you're having trouble committing the right amount of money to each street.
