Default How to play JJ - $25 Full Tilt 6 max

Villain is SLAG - something like 28/21/3

Has been very active at the table.

I have a stack approx $45. He has a stack of about $30. I have been playing TAGish... 20/9ish. I haven't shown down anything out of line.

I raise to $1 UTG+1 with JJ. SB smoothcalls. SLAG raises to $3. Two thoughts cross my mind-
(1) I have fantastic image
(2) this player is capable of a squeeze

I reraise to $12. SLAG Calls.

Flop - K rag rag rainbow.

SLAG checks. I push.

How do you define 'fantastic image'?

I'm guessing this is some sort of twisted bluff right?

I don't like it, he probably has a very narrow range since he called your 4bet and is not folding AA/KK/AK but you probably get him to laydown QQ..

I think you should call the 3bet and take it from there.

This is a $25 table... he's 120 bb... not deepstacked but not shallow.

Regarding pushing preflop... I don't think I've 3 bet pushed that drastically... $1 to $3 to $30?

I'm not sure if its bluff or not since the guy is quite capable of squeezing and or 3 betting light. Regardless, I wanted to rep AA or KK... and this is how I would be expected to play AA or KK on this flop, no?

The other question is... how do we play JJ when reraised by an aggressive player? We're not deep enough to play for sets alone... folding seems weak.

Not sure what the ideal line against different opponents is here...

NITTY. Showing down a lot of strong hands. Cautious. And, just as important, I'm deep stack at the table.

meh. what does the shove achieve again? value? nope. better hand folding? maybe QQ but that is it. hand protection? well yeah if it wasnt for the fact that he has few outs to improve if not already ahead . . . poor show i feel.

You may be right... but my thoughts are... what was I representing preflop... and how I play that hand on the flop? I don't think he folds AA or KK... but he certainly might fold QQ... possibly even AK.

I'm still hearing anyone give other lines.

Am I alway folding JJ to SLAGS who 3 bet me?

(I still contend that there's a chance I had the better hand on the flop too... that should be taken into consideration.)

Are we folding preflop since we're not getting a potential 11 to 1?

if he is calling pre with AK he is calling post at this level. QQ is a very small part of his range. i agree you are left in a difficult post flop position, but perhaps that shows you shouldnt have 4bet pre. I know you are representing an awesome hand, but since he called either
1) he has an awesome hand (he is not calling with QQ or AK if he puts you on QQ or AK)
2) he is not a thinking player, he just plays his cards. this type of player is the most likely to turn up with AK, and they are not folding this flop.
