Default River Spot

40-80 game. Folded to me in mid position and I raise with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Folded back around to the SB, a strong pro with laggy tendencies. He three-bets. I call.

Flop is A-5-6 rainbow. He bets, I call. The turn is an offsuit 7. He bets, I raise and he calls pretty quickly. The turn is an 8 for a final board of A-5-6-7-8. He checks. Your plan?

Jeff

Is this turn standard? I'd of thought this was a standard WA/WB?

Bet/fold, and I'd expect to see AK from him here pretty often.

bet fold unless he's the type you can't bet fold to in which case bet call or just check. Got it?

i can't see too many worse hands here calling, though you might see something occasionally, especially against some of the showdown monkeys.. if i'm betting i'm betting to fold out AK/AQ primarily and i'm not sure how many guys would here..

i like a check...

Bet and breathe, then fold, to a raise.

He is a Laggy pro who knows your range and can have AQ, AJ and A-10 in this spot. A-9 doesnt check. These are the only hands which he would play this way in addition to AK. I don't mind a bet since I think it's unlikely he raises you with less than a str8 or 2 pair. He will call with several hands that you can beat. Is he strong enough to check-raise bluff the river?

My hand is face up, I check

Edit: After posting this, I wondered why I never do this in reality. It is because I almost never have this read, of someone who would fold a worse hand.

I ask again. Is the turn standard for everyone here?
